A 13-year-old Geary County boy was killed Thursday when the bicycle he was riding struck a semi truck in Marion County.
It happened around 11 a.m. in the small town of Hillsboro. The Kansas Highway Patrol says Trevor Dayton Adams Wullenweber was riding on the sidewalk, went into an intersection and struck the semi, which was making an eastbound turn. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
The highway patrol crash log reports he was a resident of Milford. He was also a former student at Bergman Elementary in Manhattan.
The semi driver, identified as 52-year-old Brendan Jay Reimer of Hillsboro was reported as uninjured.
