    Update: RCPD locates body in search for missing Manhattan woman

    Update noon Wednesday

    Riley County Police have confirmed a body has been located on the Konza Prairie Nature Trail.

    Crews from RCPD, Fort Riley and K-State Police began searching the area early Wednesday after it was reported 38-year-old Nicole Grothe, a Fort Riley warrant officer from Manhattan, had gone missing. She was last heard from on Saturday and was believed to have been hiking on the nature trail.

    The investigation is ongoing and more information will be shared as it becomes available.

    10 a.m. Wednesday

    Fort Riley, the Riley County Police Department and Kansas State University Police are seeking information regarding the whereabouts of a missing Fort Riley warrant officer, last heard from over the weekend.

    In a post on Facebook Wednesday, RCPD said the agencies are searching for 38-year-old Nicole Grothe of Manhattan. She was last heard from on July 18 and is believed to have been hiking on the Konza Prairie Nature Trail. Nicole has light brown hair and brown eyes. She’s approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall and about 130 pounds.

    Anyone with information is asked to immediately call RCPD at 911 or 785-537-2112.
