Kansas State University has made a slight revision to its face mask policy for anyone on campus property.
In a release Wednesday, President Richard Myers says face coverings will now be required over mouths and noses in all indoor and outdoor spaces unless you are alone in your own private office or workspace or are alone outdoors. The university made the revision following surveys sent out to students where it was shown there was confusion about when the masks should be worn on campus.
The university has also strengthened how and when data can be accessed through a new dashboard that shares information addressing key indicators related to COVID-19. It will include information on the number of students in quarantine, on-campus data testing from Lafene Health Center and data on instructional modes.
The dashboard shows that between Aug. 17 and Aug. 21 (the first week of classes), 63 positives tests were recorded out of 678 total tests conducted (9.29% positive). At least 159 students were in quarantine and 49 were in isolation. Dashboard information can be found via k-state/edu/covid-19/communities.
