The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a series of burglary and theft reports from the past week.

Among the thefts, Sheriff Shane Jager says the department is investigating the theft of about $22,000 in tools taken from an enclosed trailer at the construction site of the new Oliver Brown Elementary School in Blue Township. The incident was reported Dec. 30 and its believed the theft occurred early that morning.

Two theft reports were also filed Dec. 28 after multiple vehicles had their catalytic converters removed. The Sheriff’s Office says the first theft involved a single vehicle that had its part removed sometime between Dec. 15 and Dec. 28 in the parking lot of Frieling Auto Sales in Manhattan. A second theft theft from two vehicles in the 26000 block of Doyle Creek Road in St. Marys, is believed to have occurred prior to Christmas Day.

Deputies also responded Jan. 3 to a reported burglary at AG Partners in Wamego after two individuals broke into the business. A small red SUV, possibly a Ford Escape, was seen leaving the business.

Anyone with information related to these thefts is asked to contact Capt. Darrin Stewart at 785-457-3353 or leave a tip at ptsheriff.com.
