    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for rape in Manhattan on April 17, 2021, at approximately 9:55 a.m. Officers listed a 29-year-old female as the victim and a 62-year-old male known to her as the suspect. Due to the nature of this crime, no further information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated robbery in the 3100 block of Heritage Ct. in Manhattan on April 17, 2021, at approximately 4:26 p.m. Officers listed a 22-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect inside a parked vehicle grabbed the victim’s wallet out of his jacket, then drove off dragging the victim a short distance. The victim sustained minor injuries. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $50.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property and criminal trespass in the 2500 block of Farm Bureau Rd. in Manhattan on April 17, 2021, at approximately 10:13 p.m. Officers listed a 20-year-old female and a 20-year-old male as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect broke into a residence and a shed and damaged a door frame, a door and a wall. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for battery and criminal damage to property in the 2200 block of College Ave. in Manhattan on April 18, 2021, at approximately 2:51 p.m. Officers listed a 28-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect injured him and damaged his vehicle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for burglary and criminal damage to property in the 300 block of Ogden on April 18, 2021, at approximately 6:19 p.m. Officers listed Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect broke into the church, breaking a window, and stole food, dishes, a roaster and other miscellaneous items. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
