    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for rape in Manhattan on July 19, 2021, around 7:03 p.m. Officers listed a 16-year-old female as the suspect and a 21-year-old male known to her as the suspect. Due to the nature of this case no further information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 2100 block of Meadowlark Rd. in Manhattan on July 19, 2021, around 7:46 p.m. Officers listed an 82-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole a spare BMW tire. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $510. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in Manhattan on July 19, 2021, around 9:14 p.m. Officers listed a 29-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a 26-year-old female suspect damaged a Play Station 5. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $570. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for burglary in the 300 block of Fremont St. in Manhattan on July 19, 2021, around 11:41 p.m. Officers listed a 31-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a 24-year-old male suspect broke into his residence and stole a Play Station 4 Pro, a 65 inch Samsung television and cash. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,099.
