    Officers filed a report for unlawful computer acts, theft by deception and forgery in the 2100 block of Meadowlark Rd. in Manhattan on July 27, 2021, around 4:28 p.m. Officers listed Meadowlark Hills Retirement and Kansas State Bank as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect wrote a fraudulent check in Meadowlark Hills Retirement’s name. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $25,000. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated battery near the intersection of N. 10th St. and Leavenworth St. in Manhattan on July 27, 2021, around 10:29 p.m. Officers listed an 18-year-old male as the victim when it was reported four unknown male suspects driving by in a silver Ford Fusion shot him with a paintball gun striking him in the leg. The suspects were also seen throwing eggs at multiple vehicles in the area. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers responded to the report of an injury crash in the 2400 block of Claflin Rd. in Manhattan on July 28, 2021, around 12:38 a.m. When officers arrived on scene they found a 2015 Kia Forte driven by Nathan George, 19, of Junction City had hit a pedestrian in a wheelchair James Baugh, 67, of Olsburg while he was crossing the street. Baugh was transported to Via Christi in critical condition and later transported to Stormont Vail in Topeka for further treatment of his injuries.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 4000 block of Kitten Creek Rd. in Manhattan on July 28, 2021, around 1:06 a.m. Officers listed a 72-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect drove through a fence and into a field. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $3,000. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
