    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for burglary in the 2900 block of Wayne Dr. in Manhattan on August 20, 2021, around 10:39 a.m. Officers listed a 41-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect entered a detached shed and stole a Ryobi pressure washer, a Stihl weedeater, leaf blower and chainsaw, and a Husqvarna hedge trimmer. The total estimated loss associated with this case is approximately $1,830. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 500 block of Sunset Ave. in Manhattan on August 22, 2021, around 2:24 a.m. Officers listed Beta Theta Pi as the victim when it was reported an unknown male suspect damaged a yard decoration stone. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Rd. in Manhattan on August 22, 2021, around 8:27 a.m. Officers listed Riley County Police Department as the victim when it was reported a 32-year-old male inmate damaged a kiosk and remote control in the Riley County Jail. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $805.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 1700 block of Houston St. in Manhattan on August 22, 2021, around 5:46 p.m. Officers listed 21- and 48-year-old males as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect stole their white 2014 Ford Focus.     Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in Manhattan on August 22, 2021, around 6:57 p.m. Officers listed a 36-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a 31-year-old female damaged a Samsung television and an air hockey table. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $3,600.
