A total of seven vehicles sustained damage from an early Tuesday morning fire at an east Manhattan auto repair shop.
Shortly after 4 a.m. the Manhattan Fire Department was dispatched to 130 Sarber Lane (Dillon’s) for the report of the smell of smoke and then redirected to A&M Auto Repair at 6th and Fair Lane for the report of a vehicle fire.
There, crews found two vehicles on fire in the lot. Five other vehicles also sustained damage. The fire was contained within 10 minutes and no injuries were reported. Firefighters cleared the scene about four hours later.
The fire caused around $16,160 in damage to the seven vehicles, $3,000 to contents in the vehicles.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
