    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for theft and criminal damage to property in the 300 block of N. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. in Manhattan on September 10, 2021, around 11:53 a.m. Officers listed an 18-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect cut a bike lock and stole his green Escape XL bicycle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $510. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for aggravated domestic battery in Manhattan on September 10, 2021, around 10:19 p.m. Officers listed 16- and 18-year-old males and a 19-year-old female as the victims when it was reported a 21-year-old male pulled a gun on them during an argument.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 500 block of N. Manhattan Ave. in Manhattan on September 11, 2021, around 1:30 a.m. Officers listed Dirty Dawgs Saloon as the victim when it was reported a 21-year-old male damaged a Red Bull high-top table. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $750. Caleb Saville, 21, of Manhattan was issued a Notice to Appear for criminal damage to property.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 100 block of Fifteenth St. in Manhattan on September 11, 2021, around 7:38 a.m. Officers listed a 31-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a 54-year-old male suspect broke out the driver’s side and back windows to his car. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $900.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 900 block of Anneberg Dr. in Manhattan on September 11, 2021, around 8:00 p.m. Officers listed a 42-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole his drawstring bag containing a wallet, cash and a Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus cell phone.     Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 2000 block of Tecumseh Rd. in Manhattan on September 11, 2021, around 10:04 p.m. Officers listed Riley County Health Department as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect broke out multiple windows with a baseball bat.     Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 1900 block of College heights Rd. in Manhattan on September 11, 2021, around 11:26 p.m. Officers listed Phi Kappa Theta fraternity as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect damaged three windows and a door.     Officers responded to the report of a private property injury crash in the 1100 block of Moro St. in Manhattan on September 12, 2021, around 2:34 a.m. When officers arrived on scene they found a 2011 Toyota Corrola driven by Shicheng Yang, 24, of Manhattan had hit a pedestrian, Rachel Meyer, 25, of Manhattan while she was sitting against a building behind Hunam Express. Meyer was transported to Via Christ by EMS for treatment of her injuries.

    Officers filed a report for burglary in the 3000 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. in Manhattan on September 12, 2021, around 8:04 a.m. Officers listed a 32-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect entered his car and stole cash, keys and an iPhone 11 cell phone. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $913. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for attempted protection order violation, stalking, criminal damage to property and criminal restraint in the 2700 block of Amherst Ave. in Manhattan on September 12, 2021, around 8:05 a.m. Officers listed Leisure Storage and a 41-year-old female as the victims when it was reported a 34-year-old male suspect locked the female victim in a storage unit and damaged the door to the storage unit with a tree. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,000.

    Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Top of the World Dr. and N. Seth Child Rd. in Manhattan on September 12, 2021, around 2:17 p.m. When officers arrived on scene they found a 2012 Ford Fusion driven by Camden Iwanksi, 17, of Stockton was northbound on N. Seth Child Rd. attempted to turn left on to Top of the World Dr. in front of a southbound 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Jonathan Losey, 32, of Wamego causing the vehicles to collide. Both vehicles entered the west ditch south of Top of the World Dr. Beatrice Griebel, 19, of Stockton, a passenger in the Ford Fusion, was transported by Life Star to Stormont Vail for treatment of her injuries.
