Riley County Police on Friday arrested a man in connection to a June 5th shooting.
25-year-old Tyrell Harper was taken into police custody just before 3 p.m. July 22nd. Harper is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon as well as aggravated battery.
Police accuse Harper of punching a 21-year-old woman in the face before shooting her in the leg in the 900 block of Bluemont Avenue in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 5th.
He is also alleged to have fired multiple rounds in the air in the incident. The woman, who told police she did not know Harper, was treated for her injuries before being released from Ascension Via Christi.
As of Monday’s report, Harper remains confined to the Riley County Jail.
