Riley County Fire District 1 responded to a fire at an abandoned Randolph home early Tuesday.

Crews arrived around 1 a.m. to a fully engulfed structure fire at 100 East Stockdale Lane. Firefighters extinguished the fire but remained on scene for two hours to ensure it did not spread to neighboring fields or property. No injuries were reported.

According to neighbors, the building had been abandoned for many years and was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

A cause has not been determined.

According to Riley County PIO Vivienne Uccello, firefighters did not respond to any serious fireworks-related incidents over the 4th of July holiday weekend.
