    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law and in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Leif Forster, 39, of Salina was arreted on August 25, 2022, at 10:55 a.m. on his Riley County District Court Warrant for two counts each of aggravated criminal sodomy and aggravated indecent liberties with a child in connection to sex crimes reported to have occurred in Ogden between August 2021 and May 2022 involving two, now nine-year-old female victims. Forster remains confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $500,000. Due to the nature of these crimes, no further information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 100 block of Thirteenth St. in Ogden on August 25, 2022, around 12:00 p.m. A 69-year-old female and a 77-year-old male were listed as the victims when it was reported their Texas Bragg 18-foot utility trailer was stolen. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $5,000. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Maria Bryan, 26, of Manhattan was arrested on August 25, 20220, at 2:00 p.m. on her Riley County District Court Warrant for aggravated battery and three counts of endangering a child in connection to a March 22, 2022, incident where she caused bodily harm to and placed a two-year-old female victim in a situation where the child’s wellbeing was endangered and a June 5, 2022, incident where she placed the same victim and a now seven-year-old male in an additional situation where the child’s wellbeing was endangered. Bryan remains confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $13,000.
