    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law and in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 1300 block of Flint Hills Pl. in Manhattan on November 23, 2022, around 1:30 p.m. A 41-year-old woman was listed as the victim when she reported her gold 1998 Toyota Camry was stolen from her apartment complex parking lot. It was last seen parked in the lot around 8:00 p.m. on November 22, 2022. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $3,000. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of N. Seth Child Rd. and Anderson Ave. in Manhattan on November 24, 2022, around 11:30 p.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Jose Orona, 25, of Manhattan had been traveling north on Seth Child in the inside lane and crossed into the outside lane hitting the rear of a 2006 Toyota Highlander driven by Sabrina Reyes, 21, also of Manhattan causing Reyes to veer right, strike the guard rail, and roll several times coming to a stop upside down on an embankment near the shoulder. Orona lost control, spun several times, and came to a stop in the southbound lanes. Both were transported to Via Christi – Reyes for evaluation of general soreness with no serious injuries, Orona was then life-flighted to Stormont Vail in Topeka for treatment of a severe head laceration and dislocated hip, he is expected to recover.

    Officers responded to the report of an injury crash in the 4600 block of Highway 13 on November 25, 2022, around 11:45 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 2017 Cadillac CTS driven by Joni Feldkamp, 64, of Baileyville was involved in a single-car crash. Feldkamp was transported to Via Christi for treatment of a leg injury.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated battery and aggravated assault in the 1300 block of Colorado St. in Manhattan on November 25, 2022, around 2:15 p.m. 28- and 36-year-old men were listed as both the victims and suspects when it was reported the 28-year-old punched the 36-year-old multiple times and threw a bottle at him, and the 36-year-old tried to hit the 28-year-old with a bottle. No serious injuries were reported.

    Officers filed a report for battery near the intersection of N. Manhattan Ave. and Moro St. in Aggieville, Manhattan on November 26, 2022, around 2:15 a.m. A 21-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown man punched him, knocking him unconscious in the alley between the Aggieville Parking Garage and Rally House, then ran away. The victim was transported to Via Christi for treatment of a facial laceration. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for theft by deception in the 3000 block of Geneva Dr. in Manhattan on November 26, 2022, around 7:15 p.m. Capital One, USAA, K-State Credit Union, and a 59-year-old woman were listed as the victims when she reported she received a call from an unknown man posing as the “RCPD Sheriff” who told her she had a warrant for her arrest because she didn’t fill out a jury duty application and needed to pay him with gift cards or she would be arrested. The woman bought four $200 gift cards and paid the suspect. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for burglary in the 300 block of Eighth St. in Ogden on November 26, 2022, around 7:45 p.m. A 25-year-old woman was listed as the victim when she reported being woken up to an unknown man who had broken into her house and was going through her kitchen drawers, then ran away after she woke up. Nothing is believed to be stolen at this time. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for theft in the 100 block of McCall Rd. in Manhattan on November 27, 2022, around 12:00 p.m. A 33-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported his red 2008 Saturn Vue was stolen from the American Legion parking lot. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $6,000. Officers attempted a traffic stop on the car after locating it around 9:45 p.m. that night near the intersection of 4th and Leavenworth Streets. After a short pursuit, the car was located unattended in the south alley of the 1000 block of Fremont St. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 1800 block of Elaine Dr. in Manhattan on November 27, 2022, around 1:30 p.m. A 23-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported her car was keyed overnight. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,500. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

    Officers filed a report for battery on November 27, 2022, around 3:45 p.m. after a 21-year-old woman arrived at the Via Christi Emergency Room with injuries from an incident where she and a 19-year-old woman reported they were battered by 4-5 unknown women the night before in Aggieville. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
