    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law and in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for aggravated assault in the 700 block of Griffith Dr. in Manhattan on January 28, 2023, around 2:00 p.m. A 30-year-old man was listed as the victim when he reported a 37-year-old man threatened him with a knife during an argument between the two.

    Officers responded to the report of a domestic incident in the 700 block of Dondee Dr. in Manhattan on January 28, 2023, around 10:45 p.m. When officers arrived on scene, they made contact with a 28-year-old woman who reported a 31-year-old man known to her hit her, took her cell phone and threw it against a well when she attempted to call 911, moved a couch in front of a door to prevent her from leaving, and held a knife at her throat. Bryan Mosley, 31, of Manhattan was found on scene and arrested for aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery, domestic battery, criminal threat, intimidation of a witness, and aggravated assault. Mosley remains confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $80,000.

    Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Fort Riley Blvd. and S. Seth Child Rd. in Manhattan on January 29, 2023, around 2:00 p.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 2015 Ford Mustang driven by Tyler Williams, 24, of Manhattan had been driving west on Fort Riley Blvd. when it hit a guardrail, overcorrected and struck the opposite guardrail. Williams was transported to Irwin Army Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

    Officers filed a report for rape in Manhattan on January 29, 2023, around 6:45 p.m. A 21-year-old woman was listed as the victim and an unknown man was listed as the suspect. Due to the nature of this crime, no further information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for rape and aggravated sexual battery in Manhattan on January 29, 2023, around 11:45 p.m. 20- and 21-year-old women were listed as the victims and a 32-year-old man known to them was listed as the suspect. Due to the nature of this crime, no further information will be released.
