    18 year old in custody for attempted arson

    An 18-year-old Manhattan man is jailed for attempted arson.

    According to the Riley County Police Department, Joseph Bauer Jr. is accused of throwing a piece of clothing onto a stove and turning it on, in an attempt to set it on fire. The item was removed by a separate party before it became inflamed.

    Bauer remains jailed on a $3,000 bond.
