    On Friday’s edition of In Focus, Manhattan Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director Karen Hibbard joined us for one final time before her upcoming retirement from the Chamber of Commerce.

    In segment 1, Karen discussed upcoming activities in the community in the month of February and highlighted a need for volunteers for Class 2A State Basketball and Special Olympics state basketball tournaments happening in March at Bramlage Coliseum. In segment 2, Karen reflected on her career and her upcoming retirement.

    Flint Hills Wellness Coalition Chair Debbie Nuss and Riley County Health Department Health Educator Shanika Rose joined us in the next two segments, and visited about the work groups that the Flint Hills Wellness Coalition has established as a result of the RCHD’s Community Health Improvement Plan.

    In our final segment, Manhattan Area Habitat for Humanity Development Manager Ben Deaver and super volunteer Katelyn Andrist, a former Miss Kansas participant, joined us to preview “Home is Where the Heart Is,” a fundraiser for the organization happening February 14th at the Hilton Garden Inn in Manhattan.
