MANHATTAN, KAN. –
Officers filed a report for theft in the 400 block of Poyntz Ave. in Manhattan on February 21, 2023, around 1:00 p.m. G. Thomas Jewelers was listed as the victim when it was reported three unknown women came into the store and acted like they were purchasing items. They asked that the items be wrapped and during wrapping, the suspects slipped the items off the counter. They then left the store to retrieve identification for the purchases but didn’t return. Four rings, a pair of earrings, and a bracelet were all stolen resulting in an approximate loss of $26,800. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
