MANHATTAN, KAN. –
Jason Lucas, 16, of Manhattan was arrested in the 2300 block of Oak St. in Manhattan on February 8, 2023, around 10:00 a.m. for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of an electronic cigarette by a minor after he was found in his vehicle in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was also arrested for aggravated arson in connection to a November 28, 2022, incident at Manhattan High School where it was reported he set a bathroom soap dispenser on fire during school hours. Lucas was transported to the North Central Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Facility in Junction City.
Officers filed a report for theft in the 800 block of Laramie St. in Manhattan on February 8, 2023, around 11:15 a.m. A 21-year-old man was listed as the victim when he reported his 1985 green Yamaha QT50 moped was stolen from an unattached, unlocked garage of his residence.
