MANHATTAN, Kan. (Kansas State Wildcats) – Wildcat fans are invited to attend a special ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Shamrock Practice Facility prior to the men’s basketball game versus Texas on Saturday.

The short ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m., and include President Richard Linton, Athletics Director Gene Taylor, Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark, defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman, along with the lead donors to the project and construction and design teams. Doors open at 1:15 p.m., and fans are encouraged to enter the main doors located on the northwest side of the facility, across from Gate G of the stadium.

With the Wildcats’ basketball game against Texas scheduled for 3 p.m., fans attending the ribbon-cutting are advised that basketball parking priority will be in effect and only those with basketball parking permits or purchasing single-game parking for $10 will be permitted to park in the east and west lots of Bramlage Coliseum.

The $32.5 million dollar facility includes one indoor practice facility with a 65-foot roof clearance and 130-yard practice field along with an adjacent exterior full size turf field. It also is fully equipped with recruiting and training areas and be accessible to the Vanier Family Football Complex and Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

“This facility is a gamechanger for our program, both from a training standpoint and in recruiting,” head coach Chris Klieman said. “We are very appreciative of all Wildcat supporters who continue to help our program – the Ryan family in particular. I have enjoyed getting to know them and am grateful for their support of all K-State student-athletes.”
