After pulling out a dominating 56-40 win at Lawrence Friday night, the Manhattan Indians will be the seventh-seed when the KSHSAA 6A State Tournament begins this coming Wednesday.

The Indians will meet Blue Valley North (19-3) to begin the tournament at Charles Koch Arena on campus at Wichita State University. Tip time will be 2:00pm.

Manhattan was one of three road teams that pulled off upsets Friday night in 6A West sub-state finals. Junction City clipped Garden City 46-43 and Derby bested Washburn Rural in 4 overtimes to advance.

Junction City will open against the defending champion, Wichita Heights, who drew the top seed with a 20-2 record.

Coverage of Manhattan’s opener will begin at 1:45pm Wednesday afternoon on Newsradio KMAN.

Phillipsburg is led by K-State signee Taryn Sides who has scored more than 2,000 points in her career.
