Grow Green Match Day took place this past Friday and the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation had a record-breaking day of fundraising with donations totaling over 1.4 million dollars.

GMCF President and CEO Vern Henricks says it was exciting to see the large number of nonprofits that ended the day with a significant amount of funds.

One of those 25 organizations is the Flint Hills Breadbasket, which received a total of over $63,000.

Executive Director Karla Hagemeister says the energy of Match Day was exciting and heartwarming, and she’s happy to see how many funds they can put towards stocking their shelves with some dietary essentials.

Of the 95 nonprofits included in Match Day, Shepherd’s Crossing received the most funds with a total of over $80,000. The No Stone Unturned Foundation and Be Able were not far behind with total funds equaling approximately $70,000.
