A week after the City of Manhattan cut the ribbon on progress in Aggieville, the archway welcoming visitors into the district has gotten a refresh.

Manhattan City Manager Ron Fehr informed the commission at Tuesday’s work session that “welcome to” would be removed before commencement ceremonies this weekend. As of Thursday morning, it has been removed.
The incident generated a lot of buzz on social media last week, with some residents suggesting alternate phrasing to correct what appeared to be a mistake, such as “Aggieville Welcomes You” or “Aggieville Est. 1899.”
