    Dameon Skidmore, 29, of Manhattan was arrested on May 15, 2023, around 7:45 p.m. for rape and furnishing alcohol to a minor. This arrest stems from an incident involving a 15-year-old girl known to Skidmore. He is being held in the Riley County Jail in lieu of bond pending a first appearance in Riley County District Court. Due to the nature of this crime, no further information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for burglary in the 2100 block of Fort Riley Blvd. in Manhattan on May 15, 2023, around 5:00 p.m. A 29-year-old man was listed as the victim when he reported his storage unit was broken into and his Coleman generator, miscellaneous hand tools, Tough Box storage box, and military clothing were stolen from inside. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,025.
