Officers filed a report for identity theft and theft by deception in the 800 block of Davis Dr. in Manhattan on May 16, 2023, around 9:00 a.m. A 67-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported he received a call from someone posing as a bank representative and relayed personal information to the person who then transferred money out of his bank account. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $4,000. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers. Using Crime Stoppers allows you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

Sterling Craig, 39, of Kansas City, Mo. was arrested on May 16, 2023, around 1:30 p.m. on his Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. This warrant stems from original charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Craig remains confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $5,000.

Alvin Mason, 39, of Abilene was arrested on May 16, 2023, around 1:30 on his two Riley County District Court warrants and one Ogden Municipal Court warrant all for failure to appear. These warrants stem from Mason’s failure to appear in court for original charges of criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of an amephatime, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of the offender registration act, driving with no license, and driving with no insurance. Mason remains confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $201,000.

Officers filed a report for aggravated battery in the 2100 block of Mike Pl. in Manhattan on May 16, 2023, around 4:30 p.m. A 16-year-old girl was listed as the victim when it was reported two 16-year-old girls came into her house and began physically fighting her, knocking her unconscious. The victim was transported to Via Christi for treatment of her injuries. Keeghan Rayburn, of Ogden, and Scarlett Mercado, of Manhattan, both 16 were arrested in connection for aggravated battery and release to guardians.
