The new $16.3 million Advanced Technology Center project is on schedule and progressing well, according to Manhattan Area Technical College President Jim Genandt

Genandt recently gave KMAN a progress update, saying the project is currently lining up to be completed by next March. He also says contractors and city officials have been supportive of the project.

The new facility will replace six modular buildings on the east side of campus and will become home to six technical programs and a BSL3 simulation training lab, in addition to conference room and computer lab space. The additional space will encompass 47,200 square feet.

Genandt says he understands that the school and it’s students will become consumers of the city and that will bring profit to Manhattan.

Genandt says classes will be scheduled to begin either by summer or fall of 2024. The programs will prepare students with the technology and control system skills needed to succeed in most businesses and organizations.
