By AJ Shaw on July 24, 2023 BREAKING NEWS, Local News, Manhattan, Riley County

A 31-year-old California man has entered into a plea agreement in relation to a February 2020 shooting near Aggieville.

Travell Hairston was scheduled for trial this week, but reportedly accepted a plea agreement with the Riley County Attorney’s office.

Details are unknown at this time. A hearing is scheduled on the matter at 11 a.m. Tuesday in front of Judge John Bosch.

Hairston is charged with attempted first-degree murder, stemming from a Feb. 8, 2020 incident in the 1100 block of Laramie Street. He’s accused of firing several rounds at a 27-year-old male victim. He also faces criminal charges tied to a September 2019 shooting at a house party in the 1300 block of Fremont Street.

Hairston has been jailed in Riley County since his extradition from California in January 2022.
