Manhattan chiropractor under investigation for rape

By KMAN Staff on July 13, 2023 Local News, Manhattan

A Manhattan chiropractor is under investigation after a recent arrest for rape.

The Riley County Police Department arrested 64-year-old Clark Petersen June 29 on a warrant alleging a single count of rape. He was released from jail after posting a $50,000 bond.

Online court records show the alleged incident occurred in July 2022 against a then-48-year-old victim. It’s unclear if the alleged incident is connected to Petersen’s business. Petersen’s attorney is Barry Clark of Clark & Platt Chartered.

A search of the Kansas Board of Healing Arts license database shows Petersen’s license remains active. Petersen owns and operates Petersen Chiropractic in Manhattan.

A first appearance is scheduled for July 28 in front of Judge Grant Bannister.
