A jury trial continued in Riley County District Court Wednesday for a 39-year-old man accused of attempted first degree murder stemming from a domestic dispute incident in October 2021.

Torrey Lindsay reportedly fired multiple shots into a vehicle while driving along K-18. According to testimony, one bullet hit the driver side back door, the other shattered the front passenger window.

Kimberly Jones, a witness to part of the incident, testified Wednesday and stated that on the morning of the shooting, she noticed from her residence in the 3700 block of Saddlehorn Trail that two vehicles were driving strangely slow along the highway.

She noted that what appeared to be a gold-colored SUV, belonging to the victim, was attempting to pull over or de-escalate the situation, but a black SUV, belonging to Lindsay, was continuing to interfere and drive into the other vehicle’s lane. She also noted the driver of the black SUV appeared animated and angry and had the windows partially rolled down.

With the help of Jones’ information, officers located a discarded revolver along the shoulder of the road near the Ogden exit. Officer Andrew Spade testified that it appeared three shots were fired from the weapon with one bullet remaining.

Lindsay is charged with single counts of attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, criminal discharge of a firearm and aggravated intimidation of a witness.
