The quest for a repeat in Class 6A football for the Manhattan Indians will see the Tribe host all but a potential sub-state matchup with Washburn Rural. The Indians finished a game back of the Junior Blues on the 6A West bracket and will open the playoffs against Wichita Southeast Friday night.

Junction City is the eighth seed in the West and will host Wichita Heights.

In 4A, Wamego’s win at Abilene assured them of the top seed on the West bracket for a second straight year. The Red Raiders draw a meeting with winless El Dorado to begin the tournament Friday night.

With a second place finish in 3A District 5, Rock Creek will open with Chapman on Friday, opposite Wichita Collegiate and Concordia.

Riley County’s win on Friday clinched the three seed out of 2A District 4 and lands them a rematch with Rossville, who they beat earlier this season at Rossville.

In Eight-man II, Frankfort draws Beloit-St. John’s/Tipton in the first round, a 2-6 ballclub and Blue Valley-Randolph will visit 7-1 Osborne.
