MANHATTAN, Kan. (K-State Athletics) – Kansas State newcomer Chuck Ingram ranked 55th overall among D1Baseball’s 2024 Top 130 Impact Transfers list.

A 6-foot-1 outfielder, Ingram arrives at K-State after playing three seasons (2021-23) at Wichita State, where he helped the Shockers to 82 victories.

The two-time First Team All-American Athletic Conference selection turned in a monster junior campaign, slashing .362/.437/.579 with 80 hits and 41 RBI. Ingram was named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll three times last season on his way to his second consecutive all-conference award.

In 141 games with 132 starts, Ingram put together a slash line of .317/.379/.550 with 36 doubles, six triples and 26 homers. The Belton, Mo., product drove in 102 RBI for the Shockers and drew 46 walks.

In 2022, Ingram became the first shocker since 2018 to homer in three consecutive games against New Mexico and Kansas.

He is the son of Jeff and Kim Ingram and brother to Cooper and Danielle. His father was a catcher at the University of New Orleans before he was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 1988 and spent two seasons with South Bend.

“The Wildcats could be an Omaha Sleeper in 2024 for a variety of reasons, plus adding Ingram to the roster out of the transfer portal. Ingram is an accomplished 6-foot, 210-pounder, who hit .309 with 14 homers and 53 RBIs two seasons ago before following that up with a monster 2023 campaign that included a .362 average, nine homers and 41 RBIs. He also finished last season with a 1.016 OPS.”

Alongside Ingram, K-State welcomed 23 newcomers (14 transfers, 9 freshmen) in the off-season. Nineteen members of the 2023 roster return for the fall season including consensus All-American Tyson Neighbors. Other returning Wildcats include All-Big 12 selections Kaelen Culpepper, Brady Day, Owen Boerema, Raphael Pelletier, and Brendan Jones.

The Wildcats open the fall schedule with an exhibition contest against Iowa Western on Friday, October 13, with first pitch set for 2 p.m.

Additionally, the Wildcats will put on their annual ALS Halloween Game on October 30 and the annual Fall World Series on November 3-5. The entire fall schedule will take place at Tointon Family Stadium with free admission to all games.
