The race for a fourth seat on the Manhattan-Ogden School Board remains tight, though incumbent Curt Herrman extended his lead slightly on Wednesday.
After polls closed Tuesday night, Herrman had a 20 vote lead over Frank Beer. More advance mail ballots were added to the election count in Riley and Pottawatomie counties Wednesday, with Herrman picking up an additional 23 votes and Frank Beer picking up 10 additional votes in his favor. As a result, Herrman now leads Beer by 33 votes. Herrman has totaled 2,818 votes to Beer’s 2,785.
The Riley and Pottawatomie County Clerk’s Office will continue to count advance mail ballots through Friday, so long as they were postmarked on or before Election Day.
Wednesday’s additional totals had no impact on the other key races in Manhattan.
As of Wednesday, Kristin Brighton continues to lead all USD 383 candidates with 4,111 votes. Katie Allen remains in second place with 3,794 votes. Greg Hoyt remains in third place with 3,549 votes.
As of Wednesday, Susan Adamchak continues to lead all Manhattan City Commission candidates with 3,620 votes, Karen McCulloh remains in second place with 3,570 votes, Peter Oppelt remains in third place with 3,141 votes and John Matta remains in fourth place with 3,037 votes.
