U.S. Senator Jerry Moran applauded the recent passage of the National Defense Authorization Act by the U.S. Senate.
The bill is an $886 billion spending package that Sen. Moran says focuses on countering America’s adversaries like China and Russia.
Moran spoke to KMAN about the package and spoke about the importance of getting the bill passed before the end of the year.

The law which is expected to be signed by President Biden any day now also fulfills many of Moran’s personal priorities like protecting benefits for military spouses, new investments at Fort Riley, military mental health referrals and much more.
Moran says that the Senate was also successful in getting a 5.2% COLA pay raise for military members.

But even with the passage of the NDAA, questions still remain on whether or not Congress can pass an aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Gaza. Moran says he supports a package that applies aid to those countries as well as towards the southern border.
