In a statement on Wednesday night from K-State athletics director Gene Taylor, it has been announced that K-State forward Nae’Qwan Tomlin will not return to the K-State men’s basketball program.
The decision comes following days of controversy between the athletics department and President Richard Linton, who released a statement earlier Wednesday to Vince Loveringe of WIBW that said “there is a serious misconduct university policy in place in compliance with NCAA. Under this policy, the president reviews and approves the findings and recommendations.”
Several fans protested outside of Linton’s home on Wednesday demanding for Tomlin to be reinstated to the team. In his statement, Taylor said that the decision did not “go lightly with him” and that he appreciated the fans’ support of the men’s basketball team.
