Kansas State University is dealing with disruptions to some computer services as a result of a recent cybersecurity incident.
In a statement Tuesday, the university confirmed the incident is impacting certain network systems, including VPN, K-State Today emails and videos on its Canvas and Mediasite accounts. University officials say immediate steps were taken to investigate the disruption, isolating areas of concern. Impacted systems were taken offline and will remain offline for the immediate future as an investigation continues.
The cybersecurity issue comes as spring classes got underway Wednesday. Students and staff are advised that if they notice anything suspicious as they engage with university technology, to reach out to the IT help desk.
University leaders are working with department heads around business processes and operations that may be impacted to ensure continuity. Those with questions should reach out to their respective Dean or Vice President.
