Jaya is a Malayan tiger and comes from the Little Rock Zoo in Arkansas after spending almost the last two years at that zoo. Jaya moved into the zoo on Jan. 16. In Aug. 2022, he fathered three cubs with a female tiger. According to Little Rock Zoo staff, Jaya is a very laid back and mellow cat.
Kirkwood says the main reason for Jaya’s arrival is for breeding purposes.

Prior to being in Manhattan and Little Rock, Jaya resided at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens in Florida.
