    Street repairs continue as city official estimates patchwork will rival 2019-20 winter season

    Public Works crews continue to take advantage of good weather and are patching more potholes across Manhattan.

    Weekend rains washed away some of the cold patch, causing crews to have to revisit some of the problem spots. Johnson says the best way residents can help is to use the City of Manhattan Report It app.

    Pothole repairs continue in full force this week! Please watch out for our hard-working Public Works folks on these major streets today:
    • A crew is working Kimball Ave. from Candlewood to Hudson
    • Another crew’s working Fort Riley Blvd. starting at Westwood & working back east

    The city has contracted with Shilling Construction, which Johnson says has been a huge benefit given the workload city crews have had in recent weeks.

    The city’s street department has anywhere from 15 to 20 people at one time dedicated to street repairs. He says it’s been the toughest winter for Public Works in four years.

    The City of Manhattan Report It app is available on Androids and iPhones and can also be accessed via the city’s website.
