Amy Davis was surprised Thursday afternoon when the town hall she thought she was attending at Wamego’s Valley Vista turned out to be a celebration in her honor.

Davis is the Valley Vista Director of Nursing.

When she came into the room, it wasn’t just the regional vice president she saw – it was Nate Schema, President and CEO of the Good Samaritan Society, the organization which owns Valley Vista. Schema was in Wamego to present Davis the Ever-Forward Award.

He explained one of the Good Samaritan Society programs is recognizing outstanding leaders across the
organization, each year recognizing six on the national level.

Schema read portions of the nomination:

Davis said it’s the residents and co-workers which makes her job so fulfilling.

Davis, along with the other champions, will be honored in June at a banquet in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
