Manhattan Public Library releases new mobile app

Manhattan Public Library has unveiled a new mobile app that will allow community members to engage with their services on the go.

The app, called myLibro, allows for users to add their library card, search through the library catalogue, place holds, reserve and renew items, and more.

“The other day I went in to pick up my holds… I just pulled out my phone and you can swipe and it shows up the barcode, and then I just checked out on my own.” says Community Engagement Coordinator, Breanna Braun.

Of note, the app allows for a family system where multiple library cards can be kept on file and utilized, as well as other pertinent information.

“You now have the ability to have your family accounts on one device,” details Braun. “There is an option to do a robotic chat with the assistant and say, ‘hey, how many items do I have checked out?’ and it will tell you what they are, when you checked them out, and when they’re due.”

The app is currently available for download across a range of mobile platforms.
