Kansas Senators shared their thoughts on Monday on Boeing’s announcement they plan to purchase Wichita-based Spirit AeroSystems. Sen. Jerry Moran expressed his concern over the announcement that Boeing is planning on acquire Spirit.
In a statement, Moran said that Wichita would not be the Air Capital of the World without the “extrodinary engineers, designers and manufacturers who have invested in our aviation AeroSystems.”
Moran said that he has reiterated that message to Spirit officials and has also spoken with Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun and Chairman of the Board Steven Mollenkopf.
Sen. Roger Marshall were more pleased in his statement, stating he looked forward to Boeing “enhancing Spirit’s role in Kansas aviation.”
