    Updated 8/2/24:

The Kansas Highway Patrol recently revealed the identity of the man killed Thursday in a crash on I-70.

The KHP reports that Brycen Chance Ronk, 21, of Fort Riley, died at the scene of the crash.

A 2023 KTM RC390 motorcycle driven by Ronk was traveling onto eastbound I-70 at Grandview Plaza at a high rate of speed on the on-ramp and passed a vehicle on the right shoulder of the ramp.

The motorcycle swerved back into the eastbound lane of Interstate 70, continued to swerve and crossed through the center line entering the westbound lanes of the Interstate and struck an International semi head-on.

Ronk was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Frontier Medical. The driver of the semi was not injured and properly restrained, according to the KHP.

    Original Story 8/1/24:

A motorcycle-versus-semi wreck Thursday on I-70 near Junction City resulted in the death of one person and left traffic snarled for hours.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported the accident just ahead of one occurred in an area of the interstate where construction work has been underway.

The victim’s name hasn’t been released, pending notification of their next of kin and the completion of the KHP investigation.
