The vice president of a local construction company is pushing back against a city official’s claim that material shortages caused a road project’s delayed completion date.
Travis Shilling, vice president of Shilling Construction Company Inc., said Tuesday the complexity of the work on Anderson/Bluemont Avenue between 11th Street and Harris Drive was the reason it missed its original expected completion date of Aug. 16.
Interim city manager Jason Hilgers had told KMAN last week that Shilling Construction had “some issues at their plant” so materials were “tough to come by.”
