Riley County’s search for a new health director has turned up 16 candidates so far.
Officials confirmed last month that Julie Gibbs, the former health director, was no longer employed with the county as of Aug. 29 but would not give details about the circumstances of her departure.
County commissioner John Ford on Tuesday said officials are “just in the primitive stages of working on” finding Gibbs’ replacement.
