Conversations continue about how to pay for school resource officers in the county.
Riley County Law Enforcement Agency Board members on Monday batted around ways of funding a greater police presence in schools, something they limited in this year’s budget.
Board chair John Matta, a Manhattan city commissioner, said that other police department’s funding models need to be studied before a new board takes over in January. He said he’s had conversations with vice chair John Ford, a Riley County commissioner, and board member Barry Wilkerson, the Riley County attorney, about it.
