The Kansas State Wildcats had an incendiary second-half performance Thursday in their 44-41 win over Rutgers in the Rate Bowl at Chase Field.

Of the Wildcat contributors on both sides of the football, 16 were freshmen and sophomores. Those 16 include almost all of the offensive production, which consisted of 542 total yards, six touchdowns and a season-high 347 rushing yards.

Sophomore Dylan Edwards was electric from the jump. The offensive MVP ran for 196 yards — a new school record in a bowl game and the most yards in a game since DJ Giddens had 206 against UCF in 2023.
