The Kansas Department of Labor recently announced that the jobless rate for Riley County is down slightly from last month.
The unemployment rate in Riley County is down from 3.4 percent in October to 3.1 percent in November. Over the last three months Kansas has averaged 2,100 jobs added per month.
Seasonally adjusted job estimates for Kansas indicate total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 7,900 from October. Total nonfarm includes private sector and government employers. Private sector jobs increased by 7,100 over the month, while government jobs increased by 800.
Since November 2023 Kansas’ seasonally adjusted total nonfarm jobs have increased by 19,100. This change is due to an increase of 14,100 private sector jobs and an increase of 5,000 government jobs.
