    20-year-old arrested for alleged child sex crimes

    A 20-year-old Manhattan man, Kelvy Abbott, Jr., was arrested on January 29, 2025, in connection with serious child abuse charges. Abbott was taken into custody at approximately 10:27 AM in the 2500 block of Farm Bureau Road, based on a Riley County District Court warrant.

    Abbott faces charges of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and rape involving a victim under the age of 14. The charges allege that Abbott, 18 or older at the time of the offenses, committed these acts against a minor.

    Abbott’s bond has been set at $75,000, and he remains in custody. Due to the nature of the crime, authorities have not released any additional details regarding the investigation at this time.
