The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Belleville man in connection to the death of his three-month-old daughter.
23-year-old William McLaughlin, of Belleville, was arrested Thursday around 11 a.m. for first-degree murder and felony abuse of a child.
The unresponsive infant was initially brought to the Republic County Hospital on Christmas. She had suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at an Omaha hospital on Dec. 29.
Following the arrest, McLaughlin was booked into the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Jail in Nebraska. The KBI said in a press release that the investigation is ongoing.
