Kansas State football landed transfer Jayshawn Ross from Alabama Tuesday afternoon.

Ross, who was rated as a top 150 player out of the transfer portal, was listed as a linebacker at Alabama, but played predominately off the edge during his time in high school at Liberty North.

According to 247Sports, Ross was the sixth best player out of Missouri in the 2023 class and a top 20 edge rusher nationally. Ross chose Alabama over K-State, Florida State, Penn State, Tennessee, and others.

Ross picked up 15 sacks in 13 games during his senior year of high school, propping himself up to unanimous 4-star status and helping Liberty North set a program record for wins with 13 and win their first state championship in 2023.

He played in just one game at Alabama this past season partly because of injury, earning his first collegiate snaps against Mercer late in the season.
