    No matter how it looks, Jeff Mittie is not just mainlining Jolly Ranchers on the sideline.

    The 11th-year Kansas State women’s basketball coach said he’s seen some fans speculating on social media about what it is he pops into his mouth every few minutes during games, perhaps suggesting he’s a compulsive snacker.

    According to him, that’s not the case.

    What he stashes on the scorers’ table behind him are cough drops. He doesn’t suck on them because he loves that sweet, sweet menthol flavor or because they help him manage stress during games.
